You can create a permanent link (permalink) to a SirsiDynix e-Library page. The permalink can be copied and used in a Web page, e-mail message, or a Web log (blog). With a permalink, you can click the link to return to a particular SirsiDynix e-Library page, including a Search Results page or a Details display page for an item.
Alternatively, you can create a bookmark so you can return to a particular SirsiDynix e-Library page.
To create a permalink
1 | Go to the page or item display for which you want to create a permalink or bookmark. |
2 | Click Link to Page. The Link to Page window displays. |
3 | Highlight the entire link shown in the Permalink field, and copy it. |
4 | Paste the copied link into a mail message, a Web page, or blog entry. |
To create a bookmark
1 | Go to the page or item display for which you want to create a permalink or bookmark. |
2 | Click Link to Page. The Link to Page window displays. |
3 | Click Open Link in New Tab. A new tab of your current page displays. |
4 | Use your browser's bookmarking functionality to create a bookmark. For more information on creating bookmarks, consult your browser's help documentation. |
You cannot create permalinks or bookmarks by copying the URL of a browser window without using the Open Link in New Tab button because the browser URL contains a unique ID for the SirsiDynix e-Library session. If you end the SirsiDynix e-Library session and later try to use the copied URL, a message displays that the SirsiDynix e-Library session has ended, and you are returned to the Quick Search page or SirsiDynix e-Library home page.
If you create a permalink or bookmark for a Search Results page or an item's Details display page, the Search Again options to refine a search do not display when you click the link to display the page.
